Software, hardware and precautions about your data

The growth of open source software has meant that you no longer have to spend a fortune to get good software for your PC. Now that smart phones are in effect small computers, there is a growing range of good small applications (apps) that are cheap or free. And now for desktops, laptops, netbooks and tablets we have a graphical based version of linux called ubuntu that is a serious alternative to Windows.

Here there be dragons. Much of the world's population is giving away its personal data to those who run money-grubbing social media. In the third menu option I have included a guide to reducing this to a minimum. There will be things in there you haven't thought of.
