DON'T DIET.

Doing something different for a while is not the best way. Change your eating, drinking and exercise habits permanently to a regime that is good but pleasurable. Avoid any plan with the word 'diet' in it. Especially the nutty ones that suggest a completely unbalanced regime or even a single food, or that promote food that is highly processed into trays or juices. They all want to sell you stuff. A BBC Horizon programme in January 2014 condemned all 'faddy' diets. In particular, a high fat/protein diet like the Atkins which, if used by someone who exercises, might lead to muscle wastage and raised insulin levels due to lack of carbohydrate calories.
